Course Description:
Join comedian Niti Dhingra for a transformative series of stand-up comedy writing workshops specifically designed for women and LGBTQIA+ individuals. These workshops are all about helping you discover your unique comedic voice, craft original material, and gain the confidence to perform your stand-up comedy in front of a supportive audience.
Whether you're a beginner or someone looking to refine your craft, Niti will guide you through every step of the process, from writing your first joke to performing it live. Comedy has been a powerful source of healing and self-expression for Niti, and she’s passionate about creating a space where diverse voices can thrive. This course is for anyone who wants to explore their creative potential and share their stories with the world.
Workshop Overview:
Each workshop is designed to build your skills progressively and encourage creative growth. Here’s what you’ll get out of the series:

Workshop 1: Finding Your Voice in Comedy (Tuesday, August 12th)

Learn the basics of stand-up comedy and how to craft a strong set.

Use your personal experiences to write a compelling 3-minute set.

Get constructive feedback from peers and Niti in a supportive environment.

Workshop 2: Writing for Laughter (Tuesday, August 26th)

Master the art of punchlines, timing, and pacing.

Structure your set for maximum impact.

Develop your material further and receive valuable feedback from the group.

Workshop 3: Performance and Stage Presence (Tuesday, September 9th)

Overcome stage fright with expert tips on building confidence.

Learn how to use physicality and voice to enhance your performance.

Rehearse and refine your 5-minute set with Niti’s guidance and feedback.

Showcase Performance (Thursday, September 11th, Tigullio)

Perform your comedy set in front of a live audience during the Pride festival.

Gain real performance experience and share your comedy with others in a fun and inclusive environment.

Proceeds will support the MGRM (Malta Gay Rights Movement).
